hide glue/Skin glue Semolina 500g
This warm-cure/hide glue is particularly suitable for bonding applications that require
a degree of flexibility after drying, due to its elasticity. It consists of pure collagen extracted from cowhides.

The manufacturing process is similar to gelatin production, and the same high-quality raw materials are used.
These oldest glues, known as warm-cure glues, guarantee extremely strong bonds.

Available in beads, cubes, or grits, you'll find the right glue for your needs here.

Application: - Soak hide glue overnight in cold water (fill a glass halfway with hide glue and water)
                    - Heat in a water bath to approximately 50-60°C
                     - Dilute with water to achieve the desired consistency Applications:

- Adhesive for paper, cardboard, wood, felt, and fabric - Instrument making - Restoration - Bookbinding - Gumming - Gilding

- High elasticity, high initial tack, and high strength
- Virtually unlimited shelf life when dry
- Gel strength: 285-315 Bloom grams
- Non-toxic and environmentally friendly

Natural Animal Glues
From skin, nerves, bones and many other animal components of cattle, pigs, rabbits and also fish, one can obtain the usual glues, which are mostly named after their raw material. The harder the glue, the stronger the bond. The more elastic, the lower the adhesive strength. A good compromise is good bovine skin glue or fish glue which are both elastic and strong. Stronger than most modern adhesives, animal glues are used in traditional woodworking and painting technique. Soaked in water and then heated in a water bath, they are used warm, and gel when left to cool. In woodworking, their watersolubility makes them reversible, while their open time allows for repositioning. In painting technique, they are used both as a size for canvas and boards, and in tempera paints. Animal glues vary in strength. Always make the minimum strength required - as a guide, a set jelly should be somewhere between hard set and liquid.

Note
The quality of a glue bond depends not only on the quality of the glue, but also on the preparation and the method of processing. The glue will only stick if both surfaces are warmer than the gelation point of the glue. When the glue dries in the glue joint, it must not move. Prolonged heating and the addition of water can change the properties in an uncontrolled manner.
